Arigato, JAPAN! Day 2

You may check my previous post on our day 1 adventure.

Set the alarm at 8am but was too sleepy to get up til 9:30am because it was raining. You can’t blame me, temperature was 12 degrees outside. Anyway, it didn’t stop the big kids from going back to Disney Resort – this time for a try of DisneySea on day 2.

We checked out of the hotel, left our baggage at the concierge and took the shuttle to the Kaihim-Makuhari train station (5-min. walk from hotel).

The Japanese are really nice people. See Dee sharing an umbrella with one of them.

Tried out some Japanese noodle using the automated ordering system. The ramen was simple but sooooooo good. I usually don’t finish all the noodles in a ramen but this was an exception.

Very delicious from broth to noodles to meat. It’s my first time finishing everything! I used to eat less of the noodles.

So we got to DisneySea earlier this time around, before 12 noon I think. We paid the higher rate for a day’s visit (¥6,900 or SG$80) and braced through the freezing wind and drizzle, roamed around the park to practically all areas.

I enjoyed DisneySea more than the Disneyland probably because of the unusual setup and larger area… Plus it was still daytime when we got there! I paired up my Mickey jacket with a bonnet to match.

My favorite was the Mermaid Kingdom. It was totally magical! I stood in awe as it got deep into me especially when Ariel’s “Part Of Your World” was playing.

By 8pm, we started walking toward the bus stop through the evening fireworks display to catch our hotel bus at 8:30pm. Back at the hotel lobby, we claimed our bags then commuted to our next hotel. Good thing most train stations have free wi-fi. We didn’t get “crazy lost” on the way with the help of GPS and travel apps. Although it felt creepy walking through the dark alleys of closed shops because it’s halloween. LOL.

So it was another APA Hotel in Higashi-Nihombashi. Room wasn’t as big as the other one but is equally decent and conveniently located just beside the train station, near cafes and convenience stores.

Water filter and faucet in one

It was around midnight so most restaurants have closed for the day. One Chinese-Japanese restaurant just across the street was unusually open beyond their operating hours as it was a public holiday the next day. The lady who attended to us was very accommodating and answered our questions, including the non-food related ones. We asked for directions, places to see and things to buy, etc. She discouraged us from going to Mt. Fuji considering the limited time we have.
