It’s been years since I last did a blog entry. This is my 3rd site by the way and definitely will be the longest running, if not the last. I always had it in mind and heart to get back to blogging but making time for it has been a major struggle.
Months back this year, two of my business-minded friends, after reading several of my posts on Facebook, sent me SMS encouraging me to start up a wider platform for relaying messages to the ‘world’, not just on Facebook. They sense infinite opportunities, which include decent moneymaking, too. Marlon, one of them, thoughtfully pops by with a text once in a while to follow through the idea.
I casually shared the idea with my roommate and because of that, as an advance birthday present, my beloved roommate Dee a.k.a. the maestra Dianne Rivas, purchased this site for me. To ensure proper facilitation, she got one of her business partners to be the webmaster. That’s way too awesome! This site wouldn’t have materialized if not for her and for that, I am forever grateful!
So why invest in blogging? (I also have to remind myself these reasons to keep me going)
#1 REALITIES OF LIFE. People blog about different things but a common theme to it is the journey through life. In attempt to describe those experiences, I named this site My Life Clips. Even though entries here are not just about me, how I see things and people around me would also highlight a different perspective of life, leading one to multiple angles so to speak. LIFE in its fullest sense becomes so real, so alive… so exciting and worth living!
#2 WAVE OF TECHNOLOGY. Everyone in modern day society are hooked on the world wide web (mainly social media), may it be for personal or business use. When you blog, you make technology work for you in reaching masses more effectively with your message and content. You capitalize on it without adding pain to your pocket.
#3 INFLUENCE. Whether you like it or not, you sow seeds of thought into people’s thinking and influence their actions as they read your posts. It subtly suggests and offers people choices. Along the way you get people into doing something about what they’ve been thinking.
Hmm.. I think I’ll also grab chicken rice for lunch.; Why not I try swimming? Blue water therapy sounds de-stressing! Oh, I’ve never seen it that way. Got to be mindful of the dangers of gossiping. Maldives is sooooo gorgeous! Honey, let’s save up for it for our next getaway.
I wish I could add a business perspective to this list. We’ll get there. But until I have a substantial number of followers, only then can we start moving into that direction (or maybe I’m wrong to think that. Experts, shed some light please). And til comments start flowing in will I get to hear and learn from the readers. I believe it’s a 2-way thing. Looking forward to the great things ahead!
Stay tuned and watch this space!
